Balancing your life inside and outside work
At Needham & James we believe that people perform best if they can achieve a sound balance between the lives they lead at work with their lives outside. We want rounded human beings working for us, not desk-based machines.
You will be expected to work hard during your training contract – not least because you need to do so to get the most out of it. Sometimes clients’ demands will mean working late into the evening, at weekends or even overnight on occasions. However, these occasions will be few and far between.
We want our trainees to have an active life outside work – getting involved in sports, music, drama, charitable, voluntary or community work, or whatever interests them (provided it’s legal and decent!) Not only is this desirable for its own sake – all work and no play etc – but building social relationships and good networks can lead to client work of one sort or another later on.
Trainees make progress here by working hard and getting involved – not just by being seen to be around.
