Residential Property Law Spot August 2008
Mid 2007 saw a milestone in land registration when the area of registered land in England and Wales hit 60%. When the information for registered land became available in 2004, just under 45% of freehold land was then registered. Although the three years saw an increase in registration this does still mean however that there is some 40% of freehold that remains unregistered. This despite the Land Registry having been around since 1862.

Social Housing Legal Update August 2008
The Housing and Regeneration Bill received Royal Assent on 22 July 2008 and contains wide ranging provisions for regulating social housing.
Most importantly for Housing Management Litigation, the Act deals with the issue of tolerated trespassers and the introduction of family intervention tenancies.
